Pague Menos Product Recommender​

The client​

Using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), Compass UOL, in partnership with AWS, ran a service for the pharmacy chain that resulted in a product ranking

The project to recommend more than 70,000 SKUs in their shopping cart was delivered in less than 60 days using Compass UOL's artificial intelligence (AI) accelerators and Amazon Personalize, which helped translate the details of the services into a business perspective.

Until then, Pague Menos did not have a product recommendation feature in its e-commerce shopping cart. As such, the items on the navigation pages were exclusively promotional and were not geared toward the customer's purchasing preference. Committed to always offering the best experience for its consumers, the pharmacy chain wanted to explore a more personalized recommendation that was targeted to each shopper's individual preferences.

In retail, efficiency and timing are the most important challenges, which is why large companies in the segment must establish market share and engage customers to consume their products, improving the experience and relationship with the consumer

Given this scenario, it was necessary to create a recommendation system to introduce customers to the products they prefer.

The solution​

We apply a methodology tailored to the retail business model that involves key decision-makers in organizations, to help them change their business strategy.

With Amazon Personalize, we offer a Machine Learning (ML) service that allows you to create personalized and scalable recommendation systems. It uses advanced ML algorithms to analyze patterns in historical data on items, customers, sales and shopping baskets to identify the most relevant items to recommend to each user.

The system developed learns through a process of continuous retraining with new user interaction data, updating and refining its recommendations over time. This allows companies to offer highly personalized experiences, increasing customer engagement, sales and loyalty.
